Shortly after 8am the Broomall Fire Co. along with surrounding fire companies were alerted to the 2600blk of West Chester Pike, Marple Twp. for a commercial building fire. First arriving units found smoke within a laundromat and local sign shop, upon further investigation crews located a working basement fire with access via the C Side Alley. The fire was quickly knocked with extensive overhaul of the area and ventilation of the strip mall. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation. Area roadways have since reopened.  Fire was held to the basement/garage area and the majority of the shopping center reopened for business the next day.
