Early Morning Basement Fire in Marple
Early this morning while operating on a CO incident the BFC was dispatched to a second emergency in the unit block of Claudia Cir Marple Township for an automatic fire alarm. Minutes later homeowners called in to report fire in the basement prompting an upgrade to the full box alarm assignment.
Fire units arrived on scene to find a 2 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the A/B corner of the home. A subsequent upgrade request to Delco DPS brought additional 4 engines and a ladder company to the scene. Fire crews established water supply, stretched 3 hoselines and opened up walls in the basement, first and second floors. The fire was placed under control in about an hour with extensive overhaul needed.

Units were on scene for approximately four hours. There are no reported injuries. The fire is under investigation by PSP fire marshals office.
