The Broomall Fire Co. along with Marple EMS and Marple Police were alerted to this single vehicle accident in the area of James Road & West Chester Pike.  First arriving units found a vehicle vs. telephone pole w/the upper portion of the pole suspended by the high tension lines.   The single occupant self extracted and was taken to an area trauma center by Marple EMS.  Rescue 53 stood-by until PECO arrived to secure the power.  Traffic in the area was hampered for several hours till the pole could he replaced and MTPD are investing the cause of the accident.
