Just after 7pm, the Broomall Fire Co. along with mutual aid agencies from Springfield Fire Co., Marple Ambulance Corps., & Media Fire Co. EMS were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on I-476 NB near MM 6.0.  First arriving crews found a single vehicle accident involving a sports car in which the driver was confined.  Crews from Squad 44 & Rescue 53 initiated an extrication of the driver while EMS worked to treat/stabilize the patient.  Once freed, the patient was transported to an area trauma center for treatment.  PSP is investigating the cause of the accident.
