Broomall volunteers responded to this pole fire on West Chester Pike at the I-476 Interchange around 1430hrs.  Firefighters encountered a burning 90′ utility pole with a cellular antenna affixed to the top, this added weight causing the pole to sway in high winds.  PECO was able to quickly secure power allowing firefighters to begin the task of extinguishing the fires.  West Chester Pike was closed to traffic for safety precautions and remained closed for approx. 20 hours until repairs could be made.
