The BFC along with mutual aid agencies were notified of smoke inside a fabrication shop in the 300blk of Reed Road, Marple Twp in the Lawrence Park Industrial Center.  Engine 53 arrived and checked the building to determine the cause of smoke which had dissipated prior to their arrival.  Additional units throughly checked the building and were unable to determine the cause, property maintenance was notified and advised to keep watch and notify 911 if problem returns.
