Rush Hour Truck Fire Clogs I-476 Traffic
At approximately 1630hrs the Broomall Fire Co. along with Radnor Fire Co. were alerted to a tractor trailer fire on I-476 SB at MM 9.3 in Marple Township. First arriving units found a well involved tractor and initiated fire attack to knock down the bulk of the fire.
I-476 SB was completely closed for a short period of time while crews operated and no injuries were reported. D/C Maguire (Radnor) had the Blue Route Command. Hazmat 54 (Delaware County Emergency Services) also made the response to assist with the fuel spill and recovery. PA State Police and towing crews remain on scene, use caution until the roadway can be completely cleared and reopened.
