Early Morning MVC on I-476 Snarls Region Traffic
Around 0330hrs Broomall Firefighters were alerted to an accident with reported entrapment on I-476 NB at MM 10.3. Rescue 53 responded immediately and arrived to find a multiple vehicle accident involving an overturned dump truck. Those involved were evaluated/treated by EMS and transported to an area trauma center. Additional units from Radnor FC/RPFFA and Marple EMS also responded.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by PA State Police. I-476 NB was closed for several hours to allow for clean up of the incident.
Fire Police units from around the region are assisting with traffic control at the Route 3/I-476 Interchange. I-476 NB was closed for approx. 5 hours.
