Early Sunday morning units from the Broomall & Springfield Fire Co.’s along with Marple & Narberth/Haverford EMS were alerted to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on I-476 SB just north of the Route 1 interchange.  Units found a sedan struck the rear of a slow moving tractor trailer in the shoulder of the highway with the driver of the sedan heavily entrapped.  Crews from Rescue 53 & Squad 44 initiated extrication of the subject who was ultimately freed after approx. 35 minutes.  The single occupant was transport to an area trauma center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  PSP is investigating the incident.
